After playing outside, thrashing with a stick or torturing a tennis ball, he walks inside covered in mud and goes straight to the bathroom, where he knows I will rinse him off with warm water -- soap if necessary -- and make him warm and clean again. Once he's toweled off, he jumps on the couch for a well-deserved rest. He's like a little angel that fell from the sky, peaceful and content, such a contrast to the fierce muddy destroyer outside.
